You are made up of microbes!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.42cm; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none;\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Only around 1\u00e2\u20ac\u201c10 trillion cells in your body actually belong to you. Trust me, that\u00c2\u00b4s a tiny number. in fact, it\u00c2\u00b4s only 10 per cent of your cells. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.42cm;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: none;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yikes! What\u00c2\u00b4s the rest? They\u00c2\u00b4re also much much smaller than a human cell (like a basketball next to an apartment building) so they\u00c2\u00b4re nothing to be afraid of.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.42cm;\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"text-decoration: none;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These tiny helpers break down carbohydrates that we cannot digest and make vitamins to make us healthy. In return, we give them a warm place to live where they can make little copies of themselves (baby microbes) and do whatever it is that microbes like to do. They sound like <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;\">Science Projects<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: none;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal;\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span>don\u00c2\u00b4t they! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.42cm; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none;\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Funnily, in the days when food was scarce, having these microbes was great. They get a lot more energy out of our food for us than we can get alone. NOW though, there is a lot of food for us to eat and we might be a bit skinnier if these tiny helpers would find somewhere else to live<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0.42cm; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none;\" lang=\"en-US\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">In total, these 10 &#8211; 100 trillion microbes only weigh around 3lb.
